Smartphone- Phone fashion

In the Sept. 12 of the News and Advance, I read this article about Phone Fashion.  Phones are going the way of watches and using them as a benchmark for design.  Aesthetics have become as big of a part of the smartphone industry as the technology.  The market is crowded with a 52% growth rate.  Companies are looking to aesthetics as the differential advantage.  This article addresses the Product part of the marketing mix.

  1. This is cool and all but this only focuses on a superficial consumer. I would expect the consumer with the most money is going to be the one that wants faster processing and longer battery for business, not pretty colors. So this business man that the phone company keeps happy will hopefully become an investor in the phone company. then again the superficial consumer will spend all their money on the pretty colors and there is more of them so as long as the phone company is getting paid I guess they don't care
