Super Bowl Ads 2015

Numerous ads during the Super Bowl 2015 went to a serious side.  An example is the Nationwide Ad.  McDonald's said it would let customers pay with with acts of kindness.  Coke focused on anitbullying.  There were a few funny ones, but the sex and crassness of past commercials was avoided (10 Funniest Commercials of the Super Bowl 2015). How do you think viewers will respond?  Was the Super Bowl the right place for depressing sad themes?

  1. I don't watch much TV, but no sports in particular. I think it's grotesque the way this country exalts sports figures when teachers, soldiers, fireman and policeman are expected to put their lives on the line, give everything they have, and have to fight for compensation adequate to feed themselves and their families.

  2. The superbowl commercials in the past have been geared more towards men who watch sports but with the bad reviews of entertainment such as Miley Cyrus, Janet Jackson and Beyoncé I think they had to focus in another direction and realize not just men watch the superbowl. The Nationwide commercial was confusing and not sure what they were aiming for but the promotion of girls in the Always commercial was my favorite.

    1. I agree that at first a lot of the commercials were targeting men because businesses thought that more men then women were watching football.

  3. I don't think sad commercials should be played during the superbowl. I think commercials for new ideas and products should be shown. Promoting new things and new ideas through commercials during the superbowl I think is a smart business move because so many different people watch the superbowl.

  4. Yes I agree that football is geared towards men and the commercials in the past have been more targeted to men. I think that the networks have done a good job with diversifying their commercials to a much broader audience because men, women ,and yes kids watch the game now. It is now more family oriented than in years passed and should stay up beat to keep moral high,No sad commercials!

  5. I do not think sad commercials should be advertised during the super bowl. The super bowl is supposed to be a fun thing and that ruins the mood. On the other hand, I do think it is okay if it is for a cause. In that case, they would get a lot of viewers.
