Coke is Adding Milk Products

Coke has entered into a joint venture with Fairlife to distribute an expensive brand of milk to major retailers.  .Soft drink sales are declining and customers are looking for a boost from their drinks.  Their product will be lactose free, contain 50% more protein, 30% more calcium, and 50% less sugar.  The product will be marketed to women.  Will consumers be willing to pay twice as much for this premium product?  How successful do you think it will be?  Read more about it:  From Staple to Superfood.

  1. I would hope they are grasping at straws and the world in general is going to realize that whole, non-processed foods is the way to go. That being said, I'm sure there will be people out there that are going to be willing to jump on the latest and greatest magic bean instead of using common sense. And 50% less sugar is still not acceptable. No added sugar - raw milk. Maybe Coke could help lobby for people to make their own decisions about purchasing wholesome natural products - so that states like Virginia can't make our minds up for us.

  2. In this area, Fresh Market would be the best place to sell because they have attracted those who want to buy healthy and do not mind paying a higher price for it.
I commend the McKloskeys in the story because lactose and sugar can be underlining causes to a lot of health issues today.

  3. I think only wealthy women who are into being healthy will buy this premium product. I don't think this will be successful because this will only attract certain women not all women.

  4. I do not think this will be successful considering it is only geared towards women. In order for it to be successful I would think it needs to be geared toward both gender. Also it will probably be expensive and a lot of people will not want to pay the price they have for the product.

  5. I read the article and I have to say I give them a High-five! they are promoting animal well being as well as a cleaner product. I for one am a big milk drinker. I would give it a try, some things are worth the extra money unfortunately. I Think it should be marketed to all forms of the family Men, women, children and so on. My sister is a health nut! I know she would buy it. My brother is an MMA fighter and loves milk too, He would most definitely buy it.
