  1. I hope they get the full 20 years, I think they should get the 20 years plus have to compensate those families of those who died from the greed and carelessness. I don't understand why a company that made so much money couldn't just put the money back into their plants to bring their equipment back up to par and their food sanitation standards back to par as well. Greed is the root of all evil. Now they shall pay for thinking they can cut corners, when ultimately the only thing they cut was people's lives short, and people's jobs.

  2. This situation is very sad. I am just heartbroken for these families, it's really terrible. This article has made me realize how much trust I put in food manufacturers, food distributers, and grocery stores or restaurants. Honestly, there are so many steps in food processing and handling where any one piece can ruin the whole, it's a miracle more people don't get sick. The other thing I was surprised by was how it seemed like it wasn't until after people got sick and died that the plants were inspected. Why aren't food processing plants being inspected? That's a little scary. When I watched the online video case about Dole, it showed Dole employees physically inspecting and visiting the produce farms. I wonder why Kellogg's doesn't inspect or visit it's food suppliers? Hopefully this terrible situation will at least bring some positive changes that are needed in the industry.

  3. Well I know they are not ethical, and once you forge or lie on results of a test that could possible harm people, I would say that's against FDA regulations. They knowingly let things slide to not lose customers at the expense of people's health and life.
